He walks in the midst of our church, intimately aware of our struggles, our persecution, our poverty, and our faithfulness. This should both comfort us in trials and convict us in areas where we've compromised.

We overcome only through Christ, not our own strength. Each message ends with a promise to "those who overcome," but we must remember that perseverance isn't something we accomplish alone. As 1 John 4 reminds us, "Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world." Our ability to endure, to remain faithful even unto death, comes from Christ our Redeemer who was dead and has come to life.
