Connecting People to Jesus: Gather, Grow, Go

What a meaningful time we had together this past Sunday. The message reminded us of the foundational calling God has placed on each of our lives, and we hope it continues to motivate us as we work together as one body.

Summary: The sermon explored the core mission of our church: to glorify God and help people trust and follow Jesus. Using the mission statement "We gather to grow, we grow to go, connecting people to Jesus," the message challenged us to move beyond simply attending Sunday services and to embrace a life of intentional discipleship. Drawing from passages in Hebrews, Acts, Deuteronomy, Colossians, and Matthew, we were reminded that gathering together, growing in Christ, and going out to others are not optional extras but the very heartbeat of what it means to follow Jesus. This calling applies to every believer, regardless of background or confidence level, and is carried out through humility, intentional relationships, boldness, and grace.

Takeaways:

  • Gathering is more than Sunday morning attendance. Whether in a life group, a one-on-one discipleship relationship, or daily personal time in Scripture, consistently drawing near to God and to other believers is essential for spiritual health and growth.
  • Growth is an ongoing, daily process. God loves us as we are, but He loves us too much to leave us unchanged. Romans 8:29 reminds us that His goal is for each of us to be conformed to the image of His Son, and that transformation requires daily surrender and time in His Word.
  • Going is the natural overflow of gathering and growing. We are called to make disciples, not simply to receive discipleship ourselves. The Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20 is not a suggestion for a select few but a charge to every follower of Jesus, carried out in humility and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We encourage you to revisit this week's group guide and devotional to continue reflecting on these truths. If you are not yet connected to a life group or a one-on-one discipleship relationship, we warmly invite you to take that next step. And if you have questions about what it means to know Jesus personally, please do not hesitate to reach out to Pastor or one of our elders.

Let us keep asking the Lord to give us His heart for the people around us, and let us go forward this week as faithful gatherers, growers, and goers for His glory.
