Week 1 Information
We will be in our multi-purpose building (you might know it as the gym) for the beginning and end of each day. Look for the banner above the door!
Please remember to have sunscreen on your child before arriving. We ask that each child brings a hat, glove (if you have one), and water bottle. Please make sure all items are clearly marked with their name.
We plan to be outside on days that the weather allows, otherwise our drills will take place in the gym. We will adjust and increase water breaks based on the heat index for the day to ensure kids stay hydrated.
Review our check in instructions below.
Kids Check In and Check Out
To ensure child safety, we ask that parents come in to the building each night to drop off and pick up the kids! We will be checking kids in from 5:45pm - 6:05pm at the large building (Gym) behind the main church.
We will have volunteers ready to help check your kids in and get them to their group.
We use an iPad kiosk to check kids in. Every child checked in will get a nametag and the parent will get a tag. Each tag has matching information so that during pick up, teachers and volunteers can ensure each child is picked up by the correct adult (especially as we learn parents' names and faces). Please be sure to bring back your parent tag for pick up.
Ahead of check in, please:
  • Have your child go to the bathroom.
  • Have sunscreen on your child if we have fair weather.
  • Make sure your child is wearing shoes (no Crocs or sandals).

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Upward cancelled if there is bad weather?
No, we still plan to meet if there is bad weather, but will be holding all activities inside instead.
What should my child bring?
We ask that each child brings a hat, glove (if you have one), and water bottle. Please make sure all items are clearly marked with their name. *We only have a limited number of spare gloves to share.
Does my child need to wear cleats and a baseball uniform?
No, but they are welcome to if they want. We recommend that children wear shoes (no crocs or sandals) and clothing they are comfortable playing baseball in (think clothing for active wear)
Does my child have to be present to win the Dayton Dragon's Baseball Giveaway?
No, each child will get 1 entry for each week they come and if they are unable to attend the last week and their name is drawn, we will reach out to get you the tickets.
My child is nervous and may struggle to participate.
That is okay! We understand this may be new to some kiddos. We will do our very best to encourage them in every activity, but will not force them to practice skills they don't want to. This camp is about learning the basics of baseball, but it is also about having fun.
How can I participate?
Parents are welcome to stay and watch, but we ask that you do not interfere with the activities going on. If you are interested in helping coach please reach out to us before Wednesday as a background check is required for all volunteers. Otherwise, we will have a few opprtunities during the weeks where parents may participate with ther child (especially on the last week).
