Pressing On: Finding Our Identity and Purpose in ChristPhilippians 3:12-16 This past Sunday's sermon explored Paul's passionate pursuit of knowing Christ and becoming more like Him. Paul reminds us that while we haven't "arrived" spiritually, we are called to press forward with singular focus—not in our own strength, but through complete dependence on the Holy Spirit. The message emphasized that our salvation is entirely through Christ's imputed righteousness, yet this should motivate us toward spiritual maturity rather than complacency. Just as Paul forgot what was behind and strained toward what was ahead, we too must fix our eyes on the prize of knowing Christ fully and reflecting His image to a watching world. Takeaways:
As we move through this week, let's ask ourselves: What possesses me? Is Jesus my ultimate treasure? Am I pressing forward with single-minded devotion, or am I distracted by looking backward or sideways? Remember, we're not running this race in our own strength—the Holy Spirit empowers us every step of the way.

A Note From Pastor TimFinding Your Identity in Christ One of the things, if you're around me enough, you'll hear me say a lot of is this idea of finding your identity in Christ. I've got some sheets [to help with this topic]. If you ever want to come and sit down and talk with me in my office, and I give these out often, and it's a whole list of scriptures that talk about who we are in Christ. Because again, the more you understand who you are in Christ, the more you understand your identity, the more that your behavior will begin to reflect that identity. Does that make sense? The more you tell yourself, "You know what? I am loved. I am forgiven. I am accepted." And guess what? These things are all in Scripture. I'm not making any of this up. These things are true about you if you have placed your trust in Jesus. Now, here's the thing. Some of you may be here [today] and you may have placed your trust in Jesus. And you may be struggling. And so go back and think about all these scriptures that talk about, I'd love to sit down with you, or one of the elders would love to sit down with you and talk to you about this idea. But maybe you're here and you haven't placed your trust or faith in Christ. You don't understand what it means to have salvation in Him. Let me just simply explain it to you [as] simply as I can. All of us. All of us! Every single human being has a problem. And that problem is that we're separated from God by our sin. We desperately need God's forgiveness for the things that we've done. Because the things we've done really come out of the heart of who we are and who we are are people who are in rebellion against God. We have to cry out and say, "Oh God! Be merciful to me. I need the sacrifice of your son on my behalf. I'm placing my trust in him and what he did for me." If that's hard for you to understand, we'd love to take some time with you today and spend some time explaining it to you further. For more infomation visit:
